“You have a voice so use it. Speak up. Raise your hands. Shout your answers. Make yourself heard. Whatever it takes. Just find your voice and when you do, fill the damn silence.”
I’ve chosen to use my voice, to fill the silent void that often fills the space where grief and heart ache reside. There is no room for silence, when in speaking truth, a place is made for love and courage and healing and hope to reside. There is no room for silence when words usher the listener into a place of acceptance and affirmation. There is no room for silence when speaking your truth and asking the big questions causes others to bravely rise.
There is no room for silence when your story cries out to be heard.
So speak up. Let the world know that you have lived. Tell us your brave story. Ask your questions. The ones that terrify you. Be the one who dares to ask, to learn, to dream, to believe, to speak up.
Raise your hands. I know you have something to say with that brave, beautiful life you are living. There is something deep in each of us, longing to tell our story. There is value in both the living of the story and the telling of the story. And there is also value in sitting back and listening to the pages turn as others share their stories with us.
