We rarely know the whole story…
We see a glimpse into someone’s life.
We see rude behavior and we think “what a rude person”.
We see a sad expression and we think, “they look so sad”.
We see a family out on a Saturday and if we think about it all we think “sweet family having a fun day together”.
There is always. Always. More to the story.
The sadness, the pain, the joy, the intensity, the journey of life.
What we see on the outside is just part of the story.
The family out on a Saturday?
That was my family today.
It was rare and beautiful and priceless and my heart was full.
It wasn’t just a fun day.
It was so much more.
Sometimes the beauty of a moment, taken for granted by some, is magnified in intensity when the moments of life preceding it line up to tell the whole story.
If you want to be challenged to look beyond the surface, read this blogpost that I read this week.
There’s always more to the story. “Let’s be gentle and read each other’s signs.”
Over the past 4 years of loss and the hardness of life, I feel like I’ve grown to see more than what is on the outside.
I’m learned to read the signs… because silently I’ve carried them for years.
Today my sign said, “THIS IS JOY! This is a big deal! This is a miracle! Celebrate with me!”
