That about sums up how Mattie is doing. He is still a very sick boy, but he has been stabilized and had a peaceful night. The episode with internal bleeding caused a minor case of PPH (Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension) to be exacerbated. He is currently receiving medication to treat PPH, he remains sedated and intubated so that he isn’t working hard on his own right now.

Yesterday we saw some high CO2 levels and some low O2 levels, but that has improved a great deal.

And Daddy arrived last night. I am so blessed that some amazing friends are covering our kids for the weekend so that John could come be with Mattie and I for a few days. As you can imagine, walking through Wednesday night’s trauma alone was more difficult than I can even relay.

I am not always able to post updates here on the blog as frequently as I would like, but if you will notice down in my side bar, you can see my twitter updates, which give you short little updates throughout the day. (For those of you not already following me on Facebook or Twitter).

Thank you for your continued prayers for Mattie and for our entire family. We are so blessed and encouraged by all of the emails, comments, and text.

Please continue to pray for the following:

– Healing of Mattie’s heart and lungs

– Healing from the infection that is in his little body

-Healing from Transient Leukemia

-Strength for John and I as we care for our family

-Peace and Grace for our children at home in our absence

-Blessings upon blessings for all those at home helping care for our children and providing meals for our family

  1. Col:9-12 Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

  2. I’m praying for your sweet Mattie and for your whole family, Tracie. Praying for His mighty and healing hand upon your precious boy.

  3. My husband and I recently had a son in the NICU with health problems. We immediately felt your pain and held hands in the dark in bed at midnight praying for you and for strength for your whole family.

  4. PRAYING!! We speak life and healing over your precious baby boy! May the Holy Spirit give Mattie’s doctors wisdom and revelation as to how to treat him – divine inspiration regarding medication dosages, testing, every decision regarding his care. Holy Spirit fill that hospital room with your peace and comfort. Heavenly Father, pour out your healing on Mattie. Give Tracie, John and loved ones peace and confidence in the midst of this storm.

  5. PTL for the latest twitter update!! So relieved to hear that Mattie did well on the flight and that he’s responding to the medication. Believing for the good reports to continue.
