My Son is for Signs and Wonders

In spite of any doctor’s reports, the Lord’s hand was on Mattie in the womb, and His hand is on him now. We know that the plans that God has for Mattie’s life will shake the earth and cause us all to marvel.

Yesterday was a difficult day for Mattie. He was running a fever, had rash, and was in general very unhappy. While the doctors had been look at the possibility of early heart failure and focusing on the heart and lungs, things just weren’t lining up. They eventually ordered a serious of blood work and other tests and came to two conclusions.

First, Mattie is on multiple antibiotics to treat an infection that is in the blood in his spinal cord. The type of infection has not be identified yet as we are waiting for the cultures to fully develop, but they have begun antibiotic treatment anyway.

In addition, it has been determined that Mattie has “transient leukemia”. Transient meaning that it is treatable. In most newborns with transient leukemia, it clears up within a few weeks to a few months without treatment. Doctors here are considering a course of treatment however since Mattie’s liver and spleen are slightly enlarged due to jaundice.

We stand believing for Mattie’s health to be completely restored. We appreciate knowing that so many of you are standing in agreement with us.

  1. Covering Mattie with the Precious Blood of Jesus from the top of his sweet head to the soles of his little feet!

  2. oh my, i just read this. we are definitely praying. you are so right, the Lord has his hand on this little one. AND he has his hand on your heart and your family. we are praying Isaiah 40, that the Lord will lift all of you up on eagles wings, that healing will come, and that He will sustain you in the midst of it.

  3. I’ve heard it said, “A mother’s heart [and father’s no doubt] beats outside its chest for the rest of its life.” Praying for Mattie and for your heart pain at this time — knowing in faith “He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or [can even] imagine, according to His power that is at work within us”..to Him be the glory.
